Bond Roberts will be launching the 109 Linea D Number 1 in Europe this month, with the UK showcase taking place at our flagship James J. Fox store on St James’s Street. This cigar is the second release from Bond Roberts, following on from the Petit 109 Linea D Number 6.

If you are unfamiliar with Bond Roberts, it is a company established in 2019 by passionate cigar experts Robert Ayala and Robert Fox. The long-time friends with their extensive knowledge of the cigar industry – Ayala, leading the world’s most popular cigar forum, Friends of El Habano, and Rob Fox, MD at James J Fox – created the cigar exchange for aged, vintage and rare Cuban Cigars to offer a secure and trusted trading environment.           

The inaugural launch of Bond Roberts cigars started with the Petit 109, taking place in Hong Kong and Miami in April 2024. Both Robert Ayala and Robert Fox joined an array of cigar aficionados from Asia, Australasia and North America to introduce their cigars to the industry.

The 109 will launch in London and Cyprus this month, providing European cigar enthusiasts the first opportunity to sample and purchase. Both the Linea D Number 1 and Linea D Number 6 will be an ongoing production and will have additional vitolas added to the portfolio in the near future.

Hamlet Paredes, who has been friends with the Bond Roberts duo for two decades was tasked with creating the blend for the cigars. His vast experience of the cigar industry and hands-on approach is proven, but the trust they have amongst them is what has delivered their desired outcome.

Rob Fox said, "Hamlet Paredes blended the cigars to create a complex mix of medium strength rich, clean and sweet tobacco flavours, creating a classic vitola which evolves through the thirds. Our investment in the Bond Roberts business, our collaboration with Friends of Habanos, Rob Ayala and Hamlet and the development of the Bond Roberts cigar have been some of the most important of my career, and I'm immensely proud of the results we've achieved”.

Bond Roberts cigars will be exclusively available at James J. Fox after the launch event on Tuesday 17th September. The cigars will also be available at jjfox.co.uk and our Selfridges London store.
