In 2022, the word Lancero is often whispered amongst people in the cigar industry. This is due to availability: Consumers want it. Retailers want it. So, factories are starting to roll more of this vitola.
Casa Turrent are the latest to do just that, producing the 1880 Claro and 1880 Maduro Lancero. The claro is a medium flavour cigar, with the blend of tobacco consisting of predominantly Mexican tobacco as the filler has some Dominican leaves.
Casa Turrent is widely recognised as the best cigar brand to come out of Mexico. Not many have attempted to roll a lancero size cigar outside of Cuba, but Casa Turrent have made their own in this now popular-again size. The Cohiba Lancero vitola has gone through a major renaissance in the last 3 /4 years, now becoming a “trendy” vitola in a Habanos portfolio now frequently producing cigars with larger ring gauges.

For all cigars we advise that they are stored in a humidor at no higher than 21°C and between 65-70% relative humidity. If no humidor is available, we would recommend a plastic zip-lock bag with a small spray of distilled water. This will keep the cigars fresh for up to three months.
