Churchill's Birthday 152 - Thursday 26th November 2026 6.30pm

Our annual Churchill Birthday event will take place on Thursday 26th November at 6.30pm. We will host 50 people on the shop floor as we pay homage to the person considered to be the greatest ever Briton.

The three C’s – cigars, champagne and cognac are commodities which all became synonymous with Sir Winston Churchill during his lifetime. His enjoyment of them has been well documented during his life and ever since. So in the spirit of said enjoyment, we celebrate his birthday with a Julieta No.2 cigar (which is known as a Churchill), a glass of champagne and a few glasses of cognac.

We will be enjoying the Romeo y Julieta Churchill – a Habanos that has become paramount to his cigar legacy in recent decades. Mr.  Sean Croley, director at Hunters & Frankau will join us to talk about the connection between James J. Fox, Churchill and cigars.

We look forward to enjoying a glass of Bollinger Special Cuvee and Delamain Pleiade Domaine La Raumbaudie as our champagne and cognac pairing. Organised by Ms. Ciara Wong and the great team at Mentzendorff, it is our honour to welcome Mr. Charles Braastad for the evening. The Cellar Master and the 9^th generation of the family to oversee the production of Delamain, he joins us to talk about the cognac house, his expertise and Delamain’s own history with Churchill. We are delighted to welcome Bollinger brand ambassador Mrs Alex Beesley to talk to guests about the famous champagne brand.
