For some, a morning cigar is the best way to start a day. With a coffee and newspaper on the balcony, a morning walk, or at a breakfast meeting; with the rest of the day to look forward to, a 30-minute smoke to start the day could be the catalyst for the great day ahead.

Good Morning Havanas is our follow up sampler selection to our Morning Cigar Sampler. A selection of four cigars – with one remaining from the original, the H.Upmann Half Corona.

The H.Upmann Half Corona is often considered the best cigar with a 30 minute or less smoke time. Probably that and the Por Larranaga Petit Corona. We’ve decided to mix up the strengths, but we feel the Half Corona to be the best in the light-to-medium profile. More leather and earth to be found within its profile, with the slightest coffee element. This cigar burns and draws wonderfully, tempered perfectly by its slightly thicker ring gauge.

Cohiba Siglo I is a smart little smoke, relatively light by Cohiba's standards, but not short on flavour by any means. Cedar and leather with a gentle grassiness and a notable coffee bean tone toward the finish, this cigar fits the bill wonderfully when time is of the essence. For many cigar enthusiasts, a Cohiba in general makes for the perfect start to the day, such is the grand stature of the brand!

The fullest flavour in this pack comes from the Cuaba Divinos. It is more robust in flavour than most Habanos of a similar size, with fuller nutty, woody and spice notes at the fore. All Cuabas are rolled in a perfecto shape, making it aesthetically different from the others brands - although other brands do have a perfecto or two in their collection. The perfecto is a classic shape, and this cigar makes a classic combination with a strong espresso or with a plentiful breakfast.

Hoyo de Monterrey Du Marie is the smallest of the quartet in this sampler, but it still provides an Habanos quality experience to proceedings that require a cigar of around 15 minutes. Historically, it's size name translating to "between acts", clearly with the theatre going smoker in mind. But with this small panatella being the light Hoyo blend, it can be incorporated into the stroll from a London station to the office.
